How much does a kitchen extension cost?

Kitchen extensions with Mirion typically start from around £35,000 and can reach £70,000+ depending on size, layout changes and spec choices like bi-fold doors or underfloor heating. We give a clear breakdown before work starts.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

A kitchen extension takes 8 to 12 weeks on site. A kitchen refit without structural work is usually 2 to 4 weeks. We agree a timeline before starting and keep you updated throughout.

Can I live in the house during the kitchen work?

In most cases, yes. We plan the work to minimise disruption — setting up a temporary kitchen area and keeping essential services running. Some clients prefer to stay elsewhere during the messiest phases.

Do I need an architect for a kitchen extension?

For structural extensions, yes — you will need drawings for building regulations and often planning permission. We can recommend architects we work with regularly, or work with yours. For non-structural kitchen refits, an architect is not usually needed.
